National Law Journal Again Names Orrick to Appellate Hot List

November.16.2015

Orrick was named to The National Law Journal’s Appellate Hot List for the fourth time. This list honors 20 law firms that “represent appellate advocacy at its strongest — winning the big cases and changing the law.”

The publication highlights some of our Supreme Court & Appellate team’s most significant victories from the past year, including defeating a preliminary-injunction challenge brought by broadcast networks against our client Dish Network Corp. related to Dish’s popular ad-skipping DVR technology and obtaining a second victory on behalf of Dow Agrosciences LLC in its patent dispute with Bayer CropScience A.G. over genetically modified soybean plants, among others.

Practice leader Josh Rosenkranz notes the team’s diverse range of cases as one of its strengths. "We didn't want to be pigeon-holed as just the patent appellate firm, or just financial services, so we've self-consciously built a profile in multiple areas," he said.
