Join Orrick partner Paul Zarnowiecki on October 1st as he moderates a panel titled “Asia Status and Update on Policies and Programs” at POET and Infocast Inc.’s inaugural Pacific Rim Offshore Wind conference at the Hotel Kabuki in San Francisco, California. The group will examine potential market sizes in Pacific Rim nations, incentives being offered, project awards and implementation timelines. Many Asian nations are actively pursuing offshore wind projects to help meet renewable energy goals, replace nuclear generators, and in some cases reduce energy costs. Taiwan has launched gigawatts of offshore wind procurements, while Japan is in the midst of implementing some of the first floating platform wind pilot projects in the world.

Paul will be joined on the panel by Jerome Guillet, Managing Director, Green Giraffe; Edgare Kerkwijk, Board Member of the Asia Wind Energy Association; and Takuya Yamazaki, Director of the Policy Planning Division for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy at the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy for the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan.
