Daniel Wayte



Dan advises companies and funds on M&A (public and private) and private equity investments, including growth equity, structured equity and complex joint ventures, particularly in the technology, financial services and energy and infrastructure sectors.

He is recommended by Legal 500 2021 and described as “[thinking] through highly complex structure and documentation issues without losing sight of the commercial objectives” and “an insightful negotiator” (Legal 500, Upper Mid-Market M&A, 2018 and 2017). 

Prior to Orrick, Dan worked in the corporate teams at Milbank and Slaughter and May.

    • Advising Aptean, a portfolio company of Vista and TA Associates, on its recommended takeover of Sanderson Group plc and subsequent acquisition of Linkfresh Software
    • Advising EQT on various matters including the acquisition by its portfolio company Utimaco GmbH of MyHSM
    • Advising Sonovate on its sale to an MXB Capital consortium
    • Advising Terra Firma on multiple transactions, including the sale of AWAS
    •  Advising HPS on its acquisition of Price Forbes, a Lloyds of London specialty insurance broker
    • Advising EIG on the sale of a 50% interest in the UK GLID wind farms alongside Centrica to the UK Green Investment Bank
    • Advised EQT on the acquisition by its portfolio company, a Multinational Digital Communications Technology Conglomerate.

    Growth equity

    • Advising Goldman Sachs on various investments, including its Series D equity investment in Raisin Gmbh
    • Advising Auxmoney on its Centerbridge Partners led growth round
    • Advising Spoke on its Series A and Future Fund rounds

    Special situations

    • Advising Roundshield Partners on investments in various speciality consumer finance platforms
    • Advising KKR Credit on investments in various lending platforms, including Oodle Finance and with Urban Exposure
    • Advising Partners Group and Goldman Sachs on a structured equity investment in a personal identity verification business
    • Advising Anchorage on its joint venture with Bain Capital in connection with the restructuring of Ideal Standard
