Shalani is an associate in the Financial Services and Securities Litigation group in Orrick’s Orange County office.
She represents major financial institutions, investment banks, mortgage servicers and other corporate clients in complex commercial litigation matters in federal and state courts across the country.
Shalani has experience in a wide range of financial services disputes, including residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS) litigation, securities fraud litigation, breach of contract actions, and class action matters. She has advised clients in all stages of litigation from pre-litigation demand letters through discovery, expert work, summary judgment, trial preparation and trial. Shalani has served on multiple trial teams in high-value RMBS and financial services matters, taken several depositions and drafted dispositive motions across a range of complex commercial disputes.
Shalani is also active in pro bono matters, including arguing an immigration appeal in the Ninth Circuit.
