Melissa's practice focuses on privacy, content moderation, consumer protection, and online safety. For several years, Melissa has defended one of the largest technology companies in the world against claims challenging its online services, including matters involving content moderation, product design, and consumer protection issues. Her work focuses on developing legal strategies that not only address specific lawsuits but also proactively mitigate future legal risk across these areas.
In her regulatory practice, Melissa has advised multiple clients responding to government investigations, including inquiries by the FTC and state Attorneys General. She also maintains an active practice providing risk analyses on online terms and policies. This includes counseling on the application of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act and other statutes to digital products and platforms.
In addition to her technology practice, Melissa handles complex commercial disputes. She also maintains a dedicated pro bono practice, currently representing a Honduran family seeking immigration relief.
