Orrick is California Employment Department of the Year for the Fourth Year in a Row

November.14.2017

For the fourth consecutive year, Orrick has been recognized as California Labor & Employment Department of the Year by ALM’s The Recorder.

The Recorder cited Orrick’s two trial wins in eight months on behalf of our client SpaceX in cases brought by former employees. The team also defeated worker misclassification claims brought against Morgan Stanley and fought off an injunction bid from Zynga in a trade secret case against Scopely.

In an interview with the publication, Mike Delikat, leader of our global Employment Law & Litigation team, and Andrew Livingston, deputy leader of the team, discuss the traits that make Orrick's employment lawyers so successful, the ways the firm harnesses technology to work more efficiently, and the things they do to train the next generation of litigators. The Recorder’s Litigation Department of the Year Awards recognize law firms whose California litigators have delivered outstanding service—and wins—for their clients in the year's most demanding litigation matters. In selecting its winners, the publication considered the money at stake, the quality of the competition faced, and the importance of the cases to clients and their respective industries.
