Updates to the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ (IEEE) Patent Policy for standards development came into effect on January 1, 2023. While the updates are relatively minor, they may add unneeded uncertainty to the Patent Policy’s injunction and reasonable rate provisions.
