The Cyrus R. Vance Center and Orrick, together with Gikera & Vadgama Advocates, Belex, and Olaniwun Ajayi, recently hosted a series of professional training workshops covering Public-Private Partnerships (P3).
The workshops featured Lorraine McGowen, Vincent Casey, Kelly Newsome, Anne Murray from Orrick, and several local counsel from Ethiopia, Kenya, and Nigeria. The sessions were split across several days, with each training session focusing on a specific region and its related issues and considerations.
The first session discussed the mechanics of P3 transactions, along with the pan-African legal and regulatory P3 landscape and corruption prevention strategies. Subsequent workshops focused on country-specific P3 and corruption issues in Nigeria, Ethiopia and Kenya, which were led by Olaniwun Ajayi, Belex and Gikera & Vadgama Advocates, respectively.
Attendees included participants from government and private practice across several African regions.
