Working Mother Article Guides Businesses on Creative Ways to Ensure Safe and Family-Friendly Return to the Office

June.30.2020

Orrick partner Lisa Lupion authored this Working Mother article providing tips to companies on how they can develop family-friendly and flexible  return-to-work policies for employees as workplaces slowly reopen during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Lisa, a member of the firm’s labor and employment practice and mother of two young children, notes that there is not a one-size-fits-all approach for employers. But she offers a series of creative steps companies can take to ensure employee safety as well as addressing the needs of working parents balancing children at home.

The recommendations include developing a safety plan; deciding which employees should return to the office; making a return to an office environment voluntary; embracing remote working; and encouraging authenticity in the new normal of work, whether in the office or at home.
