Orrick Library Seminar Series (Hong Kong): Third Party Funding − A New Tool in International Arbitration

Seminar | July.18.2018 | 9:00am - 10:30am (Hong Kong Time)

Orrick Hong Kong Office

With the antiquated common law doctrines of maintenance and champerty on their way out in most common law jurisdictions, and a generally permissive landscape available in civil law countries, third party funding is receiving much attention in the Asian region. Join the regional representative of one of the world's largest and most experienced third party funders to understand more about what funding is, when you might use it and how funding works in practice.

Our 90-minute seminar will cover:

  • What is third party funding?
  • When and why would I use it?
  • What do funders look for when they are assessing cases?
  • How can I secure funding and what will it cost?

There will be time set asides for questions and answers.
