Spencer Cohen is a corporate partner in our global M&A and Private Equity practice group.

Spencer represents private equity funds and their portfolio companies, as well as private and public companies in all aspects of their business.

Spencer regularly advises clients on a variety of strategic transitions, including domestic and cross-border M&A, debt and equity investments and joint ventures. He also counsels boards, investors and other key stakeholders on financing transactions and general corporate matters.

He works across a wide range of geographies and industries, including a primary focus in the tech, finance, life sciences, energy and infrastructure sectors.

In addition to his practice, Spencer serves on our Corporate Business Unit Hiring Committee and is one of the leaders for the firm’s U.S. summer associate program.

    • Aptean, a portfolio company of Vista Equity Partners, TA Associates and Charlesbank Capital Partners, various acquisitions of enterprise SaaS companies.
    • RSBG SE and its portfolio companies in various transactions.
    • CoorsTek, Inc. and its affiliates, in multiple acquisitions, dispositions and corporate reorganizations.
    • Turn/River Capital in an investment in Invicti Security led by Summit Partners.
    • Vitech Systems Group, in its majority stake acquisition by CVC Capital Partners.
    • Nextworld, LLC on its acquisition of Data Systems International.
    • Novitium Pharma on its sale to ANI Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANIP).
    • Whitehelm Capital in its equity investments into smart city infrastructure funds for FiberCity networks in various cities.
    • Second Spectrum in its acquisition by Genius Sports Limited (NYSE: GENI).
    • Sqreen in its acquisition by Datadog, Inc. (NASDAQ: DDOG).
    • PolSource S.A on its acquisition by EPAM Systems (NYSE: EPAM).
    • Paystack, Inc. in its acquisition by Stripe.
    • Telenor (OSL: TEL) on the subsequent sale of TapAd to Experian (LON: EXPN).
    • Central Garden & Pet (Nasdaq: Cent, Centa) on its acquisition of Green Garden Products from private equity firm Freeman Spogli & Co and other shareholders.
    • Teachable on its acquisition by Hotmart Technology.
    • German DAX 30 company, in its acquisition of a US-based technology business.
    • A New-York based real estate technology company in various acquisitions, including a cloud-based software company and several real-estate brokerages.
