Johannes advises in the areas of Real Estate, M&A and Private Equity. He focuses on advising on Real Estate aspects of corporate transactions including due diligence and all contracts and documents related to Real Estate transactions.
He primarily advises international investors and project developers on the acquisition, sale, development, financing and use of land in the logistics, senior living, parking, commercial and residential sectors. This also includes legal support for asset management and litigation. His work also includes risk assessment in the real estate sector for M&A transactions.
Before joining Orrick as an Associate, he worked for more than two years as a scientific assistant in the area of Real Estate while completing his PhD with regard to money laundering in the real estate sector. For this reason, the constantly increasing requirements in the transaction area and the know-your-customer principle are very well known and are part of the advisory service.
During a longer Secondment, Johannes also worked as in-house lawyer for the German subsidiary of a Chinese group of companies, which is why he is familiar with both the challenges faced by companies and the customs and practices of Chinese business life and can provide correspondingly targeted and efficient advice.
