Josh is well known for his ability to deftly put on and cross technical expert and fact witnesses. He has also served as lead counsel through Final Written Decision in multiple inter partes reviews.
Josh has litigated and advised on patents and technology disputes covering a wide range of fields, including electronic devices such as power converters; processor architecture, fabrication, and packaging; networking and telecommunications technologies such as routers, switches, and VoIP; computer software and cybersecurity; AR/VR and media technologies' logistics and robotics systems; transportation and trucking technology; and medical devices such as glucose monitors and cardiac defibrillators.
Before joining Orrick, Josh was an IP litigation partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP and an IP litigation attorney at Irell & Manella LLP.
Josh regularly publishes and speaks on patent litigation and emerging technology issues, including artificial intelligence and patent litigation strategy. His work has appeared in Law360, Bloomberg Law, and the Stanford Technology Law Review, where his article received a Burton Award for Distinguished Legal Writing
