Originally trained in the U.S., Sara focuses on international commercial arbitration across a range of sectors, including defense contracting, energy and infrastructure, construction, technology and corporate disputes involving joint ventures and licensing.
Sara represents clients across the United States, Europe and Asia in the energy and infrastructure, real estate, licensing and distribution, defense and aerospace industries. She has experience handling disputes governed by French, Swiss, Iranian and US (Maryland, New York, Washington, Illinois) law in most of the major arbitral forums, including the ICC, HKIAC, ICSID and the Swiss Arbitration Centre.
With a strong background in Public International Law, Sara brings a nuanced understanding of the international legal frameworks that impact cross-border disputes to her cases. She also has a keen interest in defense technology and aviation, combining industry-specific knowledge with a solutions-oriented mindset to tackle the unique legal challenges these fields present.
Before joining Orrick, Sara gained valuable experience working in the Emerging Companies department of another major international law firm in New York City. She also represented the City of New York in family court, prosecuting child abuse and neglect cases for two years. In addition to her legal practice, Sara serves as a coach for the International Criminal Court moot court and is a Steering Committee member of the young practitioners’ group of the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR).
Sara is recognised for International Arbitration by Legal 500 France.
Representing a German manufacturer in a US$100 million ICC arbitration with a US company concerning alleged defects relating to a large-volume supply contract for marine gear units.
Advising an offshore energy infrastructure owner on contractual rights and liabilities arising from proposed modifications to operational control systems, including analysis of cost allocation, defects risk and potential claims under long-term operations and maintenance arrangements.
Representing an industrial gas company in an international arbitration arising from the construction of a helium liquefaction plant, involving complex claims relating to delay, disruption, completion costs, defects and project performance.
Advising a European energy-sector client on a range of high-value post-M&A disputes, including warranty and indemnity insurance recoveries, fraud-related allegations, business conduct and disclosure issues, inventory volume shortfall, regulatory and environmental matters and claims relating to the performance and condition of industrial assets.
Representing a US financial services company in an HKIAC arbitration against a cryptocurrency wallet platform in a contractual dispute governed by Hong Kong law.

Representing Adria Group in Adria Group B.V. and Adria Group Holding B.V. v. Republic of Croatia (ICSID Case No. ARB/20/6) in relation to breach of the fair and equitable treatment standard and unlawful expropriation without compensation of a company operating in a variety of activities including agriculture, food and beverages, retail, asset trading and hospitality and listed as one of the biggest consumer business within Central Europe.
Representing German renewables investment firm Voigt & Collegen, in ICSID proceedings against Spain under the European Energy Charter Treaty in a dispute arising out of Spain’s change in the regulatory regime, specifically retroactive cuts of the feed-in tariffs for solar energy plants, that had originally attracted investment in its renewable energy sector.
