Orrick has advised leading Germany media group Südwestdeutsche Medienholding on the sale of 7Mind GmbH to 7NXT GmbH, a portfolio company of Oakley Capital and owner of the digital fitness platform Gymondo.

THE COMPANIES

Based in Stuttgart, Südwestdeutsche Medienholding is one of the largest media groups in Germany, with around 5,000 employees at more than 30 locations.

The company’s portfolio includes Süddeutsche Zeitung, Germany’s largest non-tabloid daily newspaper by circulation, as well as regional daily newspapers, magazines, advertising journals and specialist publications.

7Mind is one of the leading providers of digital content for mental wellbeing through mindfulness, meditation and healthy sleep in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

THE IMPACT

The acquisition creates an all-encompassing consumer digital platform for physical and mental fitness and wellbeing with more than 650,000 paying subscribers.
