The Lawyer has recognized Orrick partner Ed Dyson in its “Hot 100 2023,” an annual list of professionals celebrated for their legal excellence and relevance.
“Despite equities performing badly throughout the course of 2022, Orrick’s Ed Dyson has managed to thrive in the equity capital markets sector,” The Lawyer said.
The “Hot 100 2023” list highlights dealmakers, litigators and in-house lawyers, and is compiled following extensive research into candidates’ client work and contribution to their firms, companies and the wider legal profession.
The Lawyer cited Ed's work spearheading Zamaz’s direct listing, helping float special purpose acquisition company Codex Acquisitions, as well as mining businesses URA Holdings and Hamak Gold onto the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange, as well as counseling businesses on dual listings in different jurisdictions, such as biotech company OKYO Pharma onto the tech-heavy Nasdaq, and Farmacosmo on its listing on the Euronext Growth in Milan.
Ed also guided Floww on its Series B financing and strategic partnership with the London Stock Exchange to connect private companies incorporated anywhere in the world and at any stage of growth with the exchange’s ecosystem, providing businesses with access to liquidity and potentially enabling them to graduate up the “funding continuum” to seek a listing.
“As the London Stock Exchange still holds untapped potential for 2023, Dyson will continue to flex his ECM muscles, with more listings in his bag for the first quarter of 2023,” The Lawyer said.
Ed has become the go-to capital markets lawyer for emerging company clients thinking about growth and greater liquidity. He was one of the most active lawyers on listings on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange in 2022, and regularly counsels public and pre-IPO private companies, investors, entrepreneurs and underwriters on London Stock Exchange, Nasdaq and NYSE capital markets transactions. He also advises on domestic and cross-border public and private M&A deals, venture capital and growth equity financings and other matters.
