Orrick Adds Private Equity Fund Lawyer in Los Angeles

Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP continues to build its mid-size real estate fund formation practice with the recent addition of Yong-Nam Jun, an experienced private equity fund lawyer based in Los Angeles.  Formerly a counsel with DLA Piper and a partner with Kirkland and Ellis, Yong has more than 13 years of experience in the sector advising on all stages of fund formation, from terms and marketing strategy, negotiating with placement agents, drafting fund and sponsor documents, negotiating with investors to internal sponsor and management company arrangements.

“Yong’s addition is a further building block in Orrick’s strategy to provide clients who sponsor or invest in mid-size real estate investment funds with a robust and experienced platform,” said Dennis Martin, co-leader of Orrick’s Finance Business Unit, adding “What makes our platform unique is our fund-shop-level expertise and senior lawyer attention combined with our focus on the mid-market.” Orrick’s cohesive team of senior real estate and private investment funds lawyers provides counseling on all aspects of fund organization, including documentation, side letter negotiations, creation of PIVs and creating tax-efficient structures.

In addition to Yong, Orrick’s nationwide fund formation team includes partners Dolph Hellman, Quinn Moss, William Murray and Randolph Perry and managing associate Jack Machalow with tax and ERISA assistance from Grady Bolding and Mitchel Pahl, respectively.
