The Supreme Court ruled against affirmative action in the Students for Fair Admissions, Inc. v. President & Fellows of Harvard College and Students for Fair Admissions, Inc. v. University of North Carolina rulings on June 29, 2023. In response to this ruling, the New York State Bar Association’s Task Force on Advancing Diversity released a report titled, "Report and Recommendations of the New York State Bar Association Task Force on Advancing Diversity" that details the Task Force's findings and provides recommendations for enhancing diversity efforts while remaining legally compliant.
Orrick’s Mike Delikat, a member of the task force’s Business Working Group and Jill Rosenberg, a member of the task force’s Law Firm Working Group, co-led the effort analyzing the case's impact on corporate and law firm DEI initiatives.
