Leah has significant appellate and employment experience. She was previously the lead civil staff attorney at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She served at the court for five years as both a staff attorney and law clerk, and handled a range of civil and criminal matters, including several employment law matters. Since leaving the court, Leah has represented clients in federal and state appeals.
Leah also serves as appointed counsel in criminal appeals for the Northern District of California Criminal Justice Act Panel and the California First District Appellate Project. She is an active volunteer attorney with the Ninth Circuit Pro Bono Panel and the Family Violence Appellate Project. In addition, Leah serves on the State Bar of California Committee on Appellate Courts.
During law school, Leah was an intern with the Supreme Court of California, Clifford Chance, the ACLU Immigrants’ Rights Project, and the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.
