Anne O'Neill, a partner in the London office, is head of Orrick’s UK Real Estate Practice and a member of Orrick's Management Committee.

    • Advised a major shopping centre on the development and expansion of a £1.1 billion value Shopping Centre to create space for three new flagship stores.
    • Advised on the implications of a new standard section 106 agreement put forward for consultation by the strategic development authority for the area within which our client's property is situated. Working closely with one of the UK’s leading planning consultancies.
    • Advised in the capacity of principal adviser, providing development and management advice to the group across the majority of their portfolio of 15 major shopping centres across the UK.
    • Advised on a complex joint venture for the development of a seven-acre site in Canada Water to create a new mixed scheme comprising more than 1,000 new homes and 150,000 square feet of commercial space, including movie theatres, retail space, bars and restaurants, with an anticipated final value of over £500 million.
    • Advised on the acquisition of 146 units for £27 million as part of a major regeneration of a rundown housing estate in south London. The acquisition formed part of a complicated PPP scheme combining the redevelopment of council housing and the provision of a privately financed maintenance program for the new council housing for 25 years.
    • Advised on a £525 million refinancing of a major regional shopping centre.
    • Advised a joint venture client on the completion of the acquisition of a site near Stratford station as part of the regeneration of the area near the Olympic Park. The acquisition of the land was conditional upon certain aspects of planning with a delayed completion. The transaction also involved overage arrangements, forward sale agreements to provide part funding and development management and sales and development services agreements.
    • Advised a UK Pension Fund on the £56 million sale to ITV of the landmark London Television Centre, home of ITV's headquarters and studios.
    • Advised on the acquisition of a portfolio of in excess of 400 properties for a public authority.
    • Advised on the acquisition of a major town centre and development site, including compulsory purchase and road closure procedures.
    • Advised a registered social landlord in a joint development with a national retailer for social housing premises over a superstore, including joint venture and development documentation and consortium arrangements with other associations.
    • Advised a Portuguese bank on lease negotiations for office accommodation.
    • Advised Intu Properties plc on its joint venture with LaSalle Investment Management, acting on behalf of Greater Manchester Pension Fund and West Yorkshire Pension Fund, to jointly own the intu Chapelfield Shopping Centre in Norwich.
