Rory V. Wheeler is an international arbitration lawyer in Orrick’s Paris office. His practice focuses on commercial, investment, and construction disputes.
He has particular experience in the energy and mining sectors, as well as the aeronautical and automobile industries.
Rory intervenes on international projects, particularly in Europe and Africa, and acts in several jurisdictions. He has participated in arbitral proceedings conducted under the ICC, SCC, ICSID and the DIAC arbitration rules. His engagements also include acting as Administrative Secretary to arbitral tribunals.
Rory has advised aeronautical and automobile manufacturers, oil & gas companies and States on conflicts regarding joint-venture agreements (manufacturing plants, supply chains, mining projects, etc.), expropriation claims, construction works, and cost overruns disputes.
Prior to joining Orrick, Rory was an associate in an arbitration boutique law firm in Paris.
