Orrick's Ed Batts, Global Co-Head of the firm's M&A and Private Equity Group, has authored an article in the Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation entitled "Yet Another Congressional Proposed Corporate Reform: Proxy Advisory Firms in the Crosshairs." The article discusses the introduction of three bills aimed at regulating various areas affecting U.S. public company corporate governance. Specifically, Ed's article focuses on the Proxy Advisory Reform Act of 2016 and its plan to implement several changes that will address public companies complaints about proxy advisory firms.
