This article, about Chinese businesses registering trademarks for well-known British retailers, using nearly identical logos, quotes Asia managing partner Xiang Wang.

"Many of our clients who are otherwise legitimate trademark owners become victims as their marks are being preemptively filed in complete bad faith. Those marks are being used against these companies or sold for profit,” Wang stated.

"They are facing very serious situations. They almost always have to buy them back. These squatters know that our clients have to pay because the fee they spend to litigate is higher than the fee they advertise to sell them."
