Orrick Connect

Technology is at the heart of our practice. From security to connectivity to sophisticated analytics, our technology strategy is designed to improve the quality, reliability and efficiency of the client experience. The result? For the second straight year, clients named us one of the four most tech-savvy law firms in the U.S., according to the 2016 BTI Brand Elite report.

Our top priority is addressing the unprecedented security challenges in the legal industry and in the market more generally. We have built our systems to provide the highest levels of protection for our clients’ information. Our systems are certified to the ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security Management Standard, and we consult with industry-leading security firms and our own market-leading cybersecurity team to continually assess cybersecurity risks and to enhance our defenses. We’re also a member of the Legal Services Information Sharing and Analysis Organization (LS-ISAO), which focuses on best practices and now has over 70 members.

We offer solutions that improve team collaboration at Orrick and with our clients. These include extranets and deal rooms, secure content and online file sharing solutions, and shared client portals and dashboards. These solutions are hosted on premises or in the cloud, depending on the confidentiality of the matter and the preference of our clients. Our lawyers globally have access to advanced mobile technologies, allowing them to access data and address client needs on our clients’ schedules.

We’re focused on using data analytics and other innovative tools to assess and improve our internal workflows, and we offer services to our clients that enhance the efficiency of the legal function. Some examples of the technologies we currently use to support client engagements are:

  • Orrick CaseStream – Our customized case management system, encompassing file management, collaboration and workflow management tools, and standard forms and templates
  • Orrick Analytics – Proprietary technology and probability modeling used by our analytics team to solve a wide range of document review and due diligence needs
