State Attorneys General Events


State Attorneys General have broad authority to enforce laws in wide-ranging areas, including consumer protection, data privacy, antitrust, securities, and environmental law. As their states’ chief legal advisors, AGs play an important role advising their state agencies on matters of importance to businesses. State AGs also challenge federal laws, regulations, and policies in order to defend their states’ right to govern themselves.

State AGs attend conferences throughout the year held by various state AG organizations, both partisan and non-partisan. The two partisan organizations – Democratic Attorneys General Association and Republican Attorneys General Association – typically hold three major conferences a year, along with additional conferences that are open to organizations that contribute at higher levels. The two non-partisan organizations – Attorneys General Association and National Association of Attorneys General – similarly hold conferences throughout the year. While AGA requires a corporate membership, NAAG does not require a membership but does charge a fee for attending.
