Orrick Advises ENEO on Extension of Electric Power Concession with Republic of Cameroon

November.15.2018

Orrick’s team in Paris advised ENEO, Cameroon’s main producer and exclusive distributor of energy, on the conclusion of the third amendment to its concession contract.

This amendment, essential for the stability of the Cameroonian electricity sector and for the development of new projects -- in particular the Nachtigal project, whose documentation was recently signed -- has been the subject of several months of negotiation. It provides for a 10-year extension of ENEO’s concession, opens the way for new investments and modifies the concession perimeter, with transportation activities now being performed by a public company owned by the Cameroonian State.

In addition to this complex negotiation, the Orrick team previously advised ENEO on the second concession amendment and is acting on a daily basis as trusted advisor to this key player in the African electricity sector.

The Orrick team included partner Yves Lepage, of counsel Geoffroy Berthon, and senior associate Foucaud Jaulin.
