Attilio Mazzilli, Alessandro Vittoria and Francesco Pezcoller advised the Italian insurtech company Prima Assicurazioni S.p.A. in a €100 million investment from Goldman Sachs and Blackstone-managed private equity funds. This marks the largest venture capital deal of the year in Italy and the largest investment in an Italian tech company.
Prima Assicurazioni is an online car insurance startup launched by the former CEO and founder of Facile.it. The company plans to use the funds to invest in new technologies and expand its marketing and sales teams.
According to current projections, the deal is expected to be between a quarter and a fifth of the total invested in startups in Italy in 2018.
