Peter Connors Elected Vice-President of American College of Tax Counsel

Congratulations to Orrick tax partner Peter Connors on being elected Vice-President of the American College of Tax Counsel.

The American College of Tax Counsel is a professional association of tax attorneys who are recognized for their extraordinary accomplishments and professional achievements and for their dedication to improving the practice of tax law. Membership into the College is by nomination and election only; self-nomination is not permitted.

A fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel for more than a decade, Peter was unanimously elected to the position of 2nd Circuit Regent in 2015 and elected Secretary–Treasurer in May. In October he was elected Vice-President upon the appointment of College President Chuck Rettig to the position of Commissioner of Internal Revenue. Earlier in the year, another Regent of the College, Michael Desmond, was nominated to fill the position of IRS Chief Counsel.

Peter focuses his practice on cross-border transactions and he is chair of Orrick’s International Tax Practice. He is also co-chair of Orrick’s Tax Advocacy Group. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association and is on the Appointments to Tax Court Committee of the American Bar Association Tax Section. He is also a Vice President of the International Fiscal Association.
