Orrick's GDPR Readiness Assessment Tool Honored for Innovation at ILTA Distinguished Peer Awards

Orrick’s GDPR Readiness Assessment Tool was awarded Innovative Project of the Year - External/Client-Facing at the 2018 International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) Distinguished Peer Awards. The awards were handed out in conjunction with the organization’s annual educational conference, ILTACON 2018.

The European Union’s new and enhanced privacy obligations, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), took effect in May 2018. Non-compliance with the GDPR carries severe financial sanctions. Orrick saw the enactment of the GDPR as an opportunity to provide an innovative value-add service to our clients and so leveraged technology to create our complimentary GDPR Readiness Assessment Tool.

The tool gave companies the opportunity to stress-test their compliance with the GDPR before it came into effect. Upon completion of the assessment, a complimentary, personalized report is automatically generated, summarizing the likely key impacts of the GDPR for each organization. Within eight months of the tool’s launch, our GDPR webpages received 11,100+ unique visits, and more than 315 users in 31 countries on five continents completed our assessment.
