Peter Connors Named U.S. Vice-President of International Fiscal Association

Congratulations to Orrick tax partner Peter Connors on being elected Vice-President of the U.S. Branch of the International Fiscal Association.

The International Fiscal Association (IFA) is the leading non-governmental, international organization dealing with tax matters. IFA has more than 12,500 members worldwide in 111 countries, of which 68 have national branches. The USA Branch is one of the largest IFA branches, with nearly 1,000 members, divided into 17 regions. IFA USA provides its members with the opportunity to keep up to date on current issues and planning techniques, meet experienced tax experts from other countries, strengthen professional relationships, and rekindle friendships. As Vice-President-Regions of the U.S. branch, Peter will assist in the management of the 17 regions that IFA USA has throughout the U.S. He is Vice President of the New York Region, the largest region in IFA USA.

Peter focuses his practice on cross-border transactions. He also has extensive experience in related areas of tax law, including asset securitization, financial transactions, corporate reorganizations and private equity investments. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association and previously served as Vice Chair-Committee Operations of the American Bar Association’s Tax Section and a member of its Council. He currently is on the Appointments to Tax Court Committee of the American Bar Association Tax Section and Chairman of the Nominating Committee of the American College of Tax Counsel.
