May.10.2018

Congratulations to Brian Moran, who was nominated today to serve as United States Attorney for the Western District of Washington. Brian, of counsel in our Seattle office, has been a member of Orrick’s public policy group since joining the firm in 2013 along with former Washington state Attorney General Rob McKenna.

Before joining Orrick, Brian was chief deputy attorney general for the state of Washington from 2006 to 2013, and previously served as the chief criminal prosecutor for the AG’s office for eight years.

Brian’s nomination is subject to Senate confirmation.

In a statement, Brian said he was “honored and humbled” by the nomination. “I look forward to returning to public service and working alongside the men and women of the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Department of Justice who have dedicated their professional lives to serving the citizens of Washington,” Brian said in a statement.

Earlier this year, former partner Greg Scott returned to the role of U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of California.
