Orrick Named Among GAR's Top Arbitration Practices in the World

Global Arbitration Review (GAR) has once again named Orrick to its list of the world’s top 30 international arbitration practices, ranking it #24 worldwide. In its editorial coverage, GAR took particular note of  Orrick's work in a solar energy case against the Italian Government under the Energy Charter Treaty, and of several large matters involving post-M&A and electronics disputes. Orrick currently lists some 20 active international arbitration cases, and in recent months has secured three very significant awards.

In selecting the GAR 30, GAR ranks firms primarily on the number of arbitral merits hearings conducted over a two-year period, the cumulative amounts in dispute in those cases, and the headcount and geographic footprint of international arbitration partners and associates practicing within the firm. The rankings also consider the frequency of the appointment of firm members as chair or co-arbitrator on international arbitral tribunals, and the number of their listings in GAR’s sister publication, Who’s Who Legal: Arbitration – a guide to the leading practitioners in the field as selected by their peers.
