Orrick Advises EQT on Sale of E.I.S. Aircraft Group's Aviation Operations Business to QinetiQ

Orrick advised leading private equity investor EQT Mid Market on the sale of airborne training services business E.I.S. Aircraft Operations, part of E.I.S. Aircraft Group, to UK-based QinetiQ Group.

EQT Mid Market remains invested in E.I.S. Aircraft Group’s light-weight aviation cabin interior products and maintenance services business E.I.S. Aircraft Products & Services.

EQT is a leading investment firm with approximately €49 billion in raised capital across 26 funds. EQT funds have portfolio companies in Europe, Asia, and the U.S. with total sales of more than €19 billion and approximately 110,000 employees.

QinetiQ Group is a leading science and engineering company operating primarily in the defense, security and aerospace markets. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange.

E.I.S. Aircraft Group, an established product & service provider for high-growth segments of the aerospace market, consists of two business units: E.I.S. Aircraft Products & Services, a key supplier of light-weight cabin interior products that offers an array of composites & specialized thermoplastics solutions, as well as a maintenance service provider; and E.I.S. Aircraft Operations, a provider of mission-critical airborne services and technical solutions to the global defense community.

The completion of the transaction is subject to approval from the relevant authorities.

EQT was advised by Munich-based M&A and Private Equity partner Christoph Brenner, who previously advised EQT on transactions such as the initial acquisition of E.I.S. Aircraft Group and the sale of BackWerk in autumn of 2017.
