Orrick Promotes Four to Partner in London

Orrick is delighted to announce the promotion of four lawyers in London to the firm’s partnership, effective January 1, 2018.

“We are thrilled to promote these four exceptional lawyers, including three women, and to continue the growth of our London office," said Douglas Lahnborg, Orrick’s London Office Leader. Since January 2016, Orrick’s London office has added 11 partners in its Banking & Finance, Energy and Infrastructure, M&A, Real Estate, Restructuring and Technology Companies Groups.

In addition to the promotions below, recent lateral additions in London include Ali Ramadan, a rising star in the European tech space; Jacqui Hatfield, a leading advisor on UK and European Fintech and payments regulation who was named to Innovate Finance’s 2017 Women in Fintech Powerlist; and Ylan Steiner, a prominent advisor in the European VC and PE market.

Orrick’s new London partners are:

Stacy Kim is a member of the firm’s Technology Companies Group. Passionate about the technology space, Stacy works with U.S. and European companies and VC clients interested in fundraising, investing and expanding their reach in the U.S. and Europe. She also guides buyers and sellers in their U.S. and European cross border transactions. Stacy leads various initiatives to promote female-led companies, including Orrick’s relationship with female entrepreneurship networks Blooming Founders and SheWorx's London. She is highlighted in the 2018 Legal 500 UK for her venture capital work. Stacy earned her J.D. from Cornell and her B.S., with honors, from Stanford University.

Scott Morrison is a member of the firm’s Restructuring Group where he advises clients on complex cross border restructurings, insolvency matters and distressed mergers, acquisitions and financings. His clients include stakeholders across the capital structure from alternative investment funds, banks, sponsors, corporates, directors and trade creditors to trustees and insolvency practitioners. Most recently, Scott was part of the Orrick team advising off-shore drilling company Ocean Rig on its complex $3.7 billion debt restructuring, as well as GLAS Trust in the $2.2 billion debt restructuring of Edcon which was awarded “Global Finance Deal of the Year for African Insolvency and Restructuring” by American Lawyer, and on the €1.1 billion restructuring of Solocal which was recognized in the FT’s Innovative Lawyers Report Europe. He earned his L.P.C. from the College of Law of England and Wales, Birmingham and his LL.B., with honors, from Nottingham Trent University.

Sushila Nayak is a member of the firm’s Banking & Finance Group, based in London. Utilizing her dual-qualifications in New York and England and Wales, Sushila works closely with financial institutions, public and privately owned companies, asset managers and alternative lenders on complex, multidisciplinary financings. She has a broad range of experience in debt financing transactions, including corporate finance, structured finance and project finance. Sushila also advises several technology companies on trade finance matters, including receivables financing arrangements, vendor financing, and structures and supply chain financing. Active in pro bono work, she leads the London office’s pro bono efforts. Sushila earned her J.D. from the University of Virginia and her B.A. from George Mason University.

Mandy Perry is a member of the firm’s Employment Law & Litigation Group. She advises clients in all areas of employment law with a particular focus on litigation, including trade secrets, whistleblowing, discrimination and post termination restrictions. Legal 500 reports that clients describe Mandy as "a joy to work with, very experienced and knowledgeable." She earned her post graduate diploma in law, with commendation, from Manchester Metropolitan University and her B.A., with honors, from the University of Essex.
