Orrick Named to Fortune 's Best Workplaces for Diversity For Second Consecutive Year

December.05.2017

Orrick was one of only four law firms named among Fortune’s 100 Best Workplaces for Diversity. This is the second consecutive year we have been featured on this list.

The ranking considered more than 50 elements of employees’ experiences at work, including professional development, behaviors linked to innovation, leadership confidence and consistent treatment among employees of different backgrounds. The ranking also accounted for the share of women, people of color, Baby Boomers and LGBT individuals in the workplace.

As one Orrick team member told Fortune: “We have a bedrock of being not only culturally diverse, but embracing and accepting in a meaningful way.” Our commitment to developing and retaining diverse talent was also cited.

This is only the latest recognition we have received for our commitment to diversity and inclusiveness. Orrick is one of only three firms recognized by all three leading measures of the best firms for women: Working Mother and Flex-Time Lawyers’ Best Law Firms for Women, Yale Law Women’s Top 10 Family Friendly Firms, and the Women in Law Empowerment Forum’s Gold Standard, which recognizes firm success in advancing women to leadership roles. We also recently earned a perfect score for the eleventh consecutive year in the 2017 Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s annual Corporate Equality Index and Best Places to Work survey, which evaluates LGBT-related policies and practices. In addition, in 2017 Orrick has been named one of Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For, 100 Best Workplaces for Women, 100 Best Workplaces for Millennials and 50 Best Workplaces for Parents.
