Shanghai and Overseas Partners Team Up For Seminar on Outbound M&A

Orrick lawyers from our Washington, D.C., Rome, Milan and Tokyo offices joined our Shanghai team this week to share their insights on investment and trade challenges for Chinese companies, outbound investments and cross-border M&A. The seminar was well attended by a number of executives and lawyers from investment funds and technology companies.

Ethan Ma explained Orrick’s history and our strategy focused on serving companies in the technology, energy & infrastructure and finance sectors. Harry Clark spoke about the screening of Chinese investment in the United States by CFIUS and U.S. economic sanctions. Jeffrey Sun, Betty Louie, Guido Testa and Mark Weeks discussed deal processes for cross-border investments and M&A in the U.S. and across Europe, as well as key issues concerning IP, antitrust, employment, tax and dispute resolution.
