An Orrick team led by London Technology Companies Group partner Ylan Steiner and associate Janine Suttie have advised clients Currencycloud and Evrythng on their most recent fundraising rounds.
The firm advised London-based Currencycloud on its $25 million Series D fundraising round. Led by GV, the venture capital investment arm of Alphabet Inc., this is its first fintech investment in Europe. The round brings the total raised by Currencycloud to $61 million, with existing investors participating in the round, including Notion Capital, Sapphire Ventures, Rakuten FinTech Fund and Anthemis.
The firm also counseled Evrythng, an Internet of Things smart products platform, on its $24.8 million Series B fundraising round. Led by San Francisco-based Sway Ventures, the round includes Toronto-based Generation Ventures and London-based Bloc Ventures, who participated alongside existing investors BHLP, Atomico, Cisco, Samsung, Dawn Capital and Advance Vixeid Partners.
