Three Orrick Transactions Win Project Finance International Deal of the Year

Orrick served as counsel on three deals that will be honored as “Deal of the Year” at the annual PFI Awards hosted by Project Finance International on February 1, 2017. 

The recognized deals include:

  • Americas Power Deal of the Year: CPV Towantic
    Orrick advised General Electric Financial Services in the sale of a stake in the state-of-the-art CPV Towantic Energy Center to a subsidiary of Ullico Infrastructure Master Fund. Once completed, the center will use clean natural gas to power over 750,000 Connecticut homes. The Orrick team was led by Tara Higgins.

  • Americas Transportation Deal of the Year: LaGuardia Central Terminal
    Orrick counseled the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey on the $4 billion LaGuardia Airport Terminal B redevelopment project, including all phases of procurement, bid evaluations, airline interactions and lease and financing negotiations. The Orrick team was led by Young Lee.

  • European Telecoms Deal of the Year: Nord-Pas-de-Calais Broadband
    Orrick represented the lenders in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais broadband project, Europe’s largest concession broadband network. Once completed, the project will bring high-speed broadband to the northern Calais region of France. The Orrick team was led by Jean-Luc Champy and Amaury de Feydeau.

The PFI Awards follow Orrick’s selection as a Law360 Project Finance Practice Group of the Year for the fourth time. In addition, the firm’s U.S. PPP practice is rated Band 1 by Chambers Global and its U.S. Renewable Energy practice is Tier 1 in Legal 500, while its lawyers have earned 65 individual rankings from Chambers across multiple sectors and markets worldwide.
