Orrick Named a Top 10 Legal Adviser by Inspiratia

January.23.2017

Orrick has been recognized by Inspiratia as one of 2016’s most prolific law firms by transaction volume, earning a spot on their “Top 10 Legal Advisers” list.

The list, which recognizes law firms for their advisory services in infrastructure and renewable sector deals across the globe, recorded the total value of deals that Orrick advised on at approximately $10.4 billion.

The feature highlighted several of the firm’s significant projects this year, including the $4 billion La Guardia Airport terminal expansion led by partner Young Lee. Financed with a combination of Port Authority funding, tax-exempt and taxable bond debt and sponsor equity, as well as with airline and retail revenues, this deal is the first greenfield airport PPP project in the U.S., and the largest PPP project in North America to date. The article also notes Orrick’s work on the $2 billion Maryland-National Capital Purple Line Light Rail Transit project, led by partner Dan Mathews, and the $800 million refinancing of a 344MW portfolio of solar projects in Arizona and Nevada led by partner Mark Weitzel.

The Inspiratia rankings reflect the scope and impact of Orrick’s Energy & infrastructure practice groups. Last year we were named Legalcommunity’s “Energy Law Firm of the Year” and rated Band 1 for U.S. projects by Chambers Global. The Purple Line project earned a gold honor for Best Transit and Aviation Project at the 2016 P3 Awards.
