Orrick To Participate in Women in Law "Hackathon"

September.29.2015

Orrick is pleased to announce our participation in the Women in Law Hackathon, a team-based contest created by the Diversity Lab in collaboration with Stanford Law School and Bloomberg Law.

The Hackathon’s purpose is to generate innovative ideas and solutions that will lead to greater retention and advancement of experienced women in law firms. 54 high-level partners from law firms across the U.S. will work together (virtually) in teams of 6 from January to June 2016 to devise an innovative project or initiative that boosts the advancement and retention of experienced women lawyers in law firms. The teams will then present their ideas in-person to a panel of judges at the pitch event at Stanford Law School on June 24.

“We are excited to join the Diversity Lab, Stanford Law School, Bloomberg and law firms around the country in hacking this problem,” said Orrick Chairman Mitch Zuklie. “The hackathon represents exactly the kind of dialogue and teamwork that we need to crack the code on women’s advancement, and we look forward to implementing the innovative ideas that we expect will come out of this contest.”
