She advises domestic as well as international clients on German and European antitrust and competition law, including mergers, compliance, internal investigations, cartels and abuse of dominance. In addition, Julia advises on foreign direct investment proceedings before the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action . Another part of her practice is to provide general corporate counselling.
At the beginning of her career at Orrick, Julia advised national and international clients on complex cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital investments, so she is experienced in corporate transactions to that extent.
Prior to joining Orrick, Julia worked as research assistant and trainee lawyer for several international law firms in Düsseldorf and Frankfurt.
Sara represents clients across the United States, Europe and Asia in the energy and infrastructure, real estate, licensing and distribution, defense, and aerospace industries. She has experience handling disputes governed by French, Swiss, Iranian, and US (Maryland, New York, Washington, Illinois) law in most of the major arbitral forums, including the ICC, HKIAC, ICSID, and the Swiss Arbitration Centre.
With a strong background in Public International Law, Sara brings a nuanced understanding of the international legal frameworks that impact cross-border disputes to her cases. She also has a keen interest in defense technology and aviation, combining industry-specific knowledge with a solutions-oriented mindset to tackle the unique legal challenges these fields present.
Before joining Orrick, Sara gained valuable experience working in the Emerging Companies department of another major international law firm in New York City. She also represented the City of New York in family court, prosecuting child abuse and neglect cases for two years. In addition to her legal practice, Sara serves as a coach for the International Criminal Court moot court and is a Steering Committee member of the young practitioners’ group of the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR).
Sara is recognised for International Arbitration by Legal 500 France.
Loren's practice spans diverse employment related issues and other complex business litigation. Loren received her J.D. from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings). While in law school, she served as the Co-President for the Black Law Students Association and a tutor for the Legal Education Opportunity Program.
Yali assists local- and foreign-based multinational companies with all aspects of their intellectual property rights in China, Europe and the United States, including Section 337 U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) litigation. Yali has extensional experience in patent, trademark, domain name, copyright and trade secret.
Yali’s intellectual property-related services include patent filing and subsequent maintenance affairs for her clients.
Meaghan is experienced in a range of state and federal litigation matters including civil and criminal conspiracy, fraud, employment, construction, pharmaceutical intellectual property rights, COVID-related insurance recovery, and class action data breach litigation. Now Meaghan focuses her practice on products liability and class action litigation.
Prior to joining Orrick, Meaghan focused her practice on political law matters with an emphasis on fighting voter suppression laws and legislation which disenfranchise minorities, young, low-income, disabled, and elderly voters. Meaghan served on trial teams that successfully struck voter suppression laws in New York, Texas, Georgia, and Arkansas.
In 2020, Meaghan was named to the Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll with high honors after providing more than 100 hours of pro bono service before the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Meaghan continues in her commitment to pro bono service by providing legal services to domestic violence survivors with the DC Volunteer Lawyers Project.
Meaghan earned her J.D. from American University Washington College of Law, while serving in chambers with the Hon. Yvonne M. Williams of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
Meaghan is located in Orrick’s Washington, D.C. office, and admitted to practice in Washington, D.C. and Maryland.
