A natural advocate, Sunny has first chaired litigation from inception through favorable resolution and successfully briefed and argued dispositive motions and appeals. Sunny is adept at all stages of discovery, comfortable with cross-border disputes, and experienced in both government and internal investigations. Sunny also has particular knowledge regarding the nuances of alternative dispute resolution, including drafting and enforcement of both B2B and B2C arbitration provisions.
Sunny jumpstarted his career by honing his research and writing skills as law clerk to Chief Judge Kimberly J. Mueller of the federal District Court in Sacramento and judicial extern to the late Judge Harry Pregerson of the Ninth Circuit. Before law school, Sunny served for several years as a trade attache for the French government, covering the oenology and viticulture sector.

Vedika has devoted her career to improving the delivery of legal services. She leads Orrick Labs, the firm's skunkworks, where custom legal solutions are designed and developed for clients and lawyers of the firm. She is trained and skilled in legal operations and technology and frequently applies Six Sigma principles to projects.
Using her background as an attorney and experience in managing high-impact projects across a variety of legal operational challenges, Vedika is a trusted advisor to our clients and regularly consults on solutions for contract lifecycle management, document and workflow automation, process improvement, knowledge management, data analysis, AI, and other issues that are top of mind for the industry.
Vedika also supports practice innovation efforts across the firm, including strategy and implementation of legal technologies for lawyers, re-engineering practice groups, and driving and influencing change in how firmwide resources execute on service delivery. Her efforts ensure that a commitment to creative problem-solving and human-centered design are leveraged across internal and external solutions alike, positioning the firm’s clients to excel at supporting their businesses, and the firm to remain on the leading-edge of innovation.
In 2020, Vedika was listed to the Changing Lawyer Awards, and in 2023 she was awarded the Graduate of the Last Decade award by her alma mater, Suffolk University Law School.
Derek advises clients on complex domestic and international merger and acquisition transactions in the technology, life sciences, food and beverage, consumer packaged goods, logistics and manufacturing sectors. Prior to joining Orrick, Derek was an associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP and held senior management roles in the mobile and casino gaming industries.
Anissa advises French and international companies on all aspects of French employment and labor law.
Prior to joining Orrick, Anissa worked on employment matters as a trainee at Allen & Overy, and as a legal intern and legal specialist at Skadden and CMS in Paris.
His practice includes serving as bond and disclosure counsel on revenue and tax-supported bond transactions in a variety of financing structures, including fixed rate bonds, variable rate bonds, synthetic fixed rate bonds and conduit issues.
Jamie works with litigation attorneys and third party vendors to manage the review and production of documents relevant to investigations and litigation. This work includes using early case assessment technology to analyze, categorize and cull data. She also manages teams of skilled professionals performing document review, redaction, analysis, production and drafting privilege logs. Jamie assists the litigation team to prepare for trial, including drafting deposition summaries, factual memoranda and exhibit charts. She also works with practice office attorneys on transactional tasks, including contract review and due diligence.
Prior to joining Orrick, Jamie clerked with Judge John T. Mullaney, Jr. in the Superior Court of New Jersey Monmouth Vicinage and was an associate at Lucas & McGoughran, LLC in Oakhurst, New Jersey.
