Franziska Gräfin Grote, LL.M. Partner

Franziska acts as counsel and arbitrator in arbitration proceedings under various rules, including the ICC, DIS, ICSID, UNCITRAL and in ad hoc proceedings. She also deals with issues relating to the recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards. Franziska also advises on all stages of dispute resolution and acts as counsel for global enterprises in disputes before the national German courts. Her cases span a variety of industries including infrastructure projects, renewables, oil and gas, automotive, construction, technology and life science.

Franziska is a dual trained lawyer in Germany and France. She gained further experience by working in international arbitration hubs such as Paris and London. She is active in various arbitration associations and is a regional co-chair of the German Arbitration Institution (DIS) (from 2019-2021, she was regional co-chair of the young arbitration practitioners, the DIS40). She teaches a seminar at the Beck Academy on post M&A Disputes and regularly speaks at conferences on international arbitration topics.

Dr. Sven Greulich, LL.M. (Cantuar), EMBA Partner

His clients include technology companies of all stages as well as venture capital and corporate venture capital investors. Together with an international and interdisciplinary team, he also supports scaleups and multinationals in their expansion projects, with a particular focus on cross-border transactions between Germany and the USA.

Sven’s goal is to build bridges for his clients between Germany, Silicon Valley, and other international technology hubs, helping them achieve successful growth in the global market. His legal and business background, entrepreneurial spirit, and experience from more than 400 financing rounds and M&A projects across various industries enable him to fully understand his clients’ strategic and commercial objectives and to develop creative solutions to achieve them.

Sven volunteers with entrepreneur groups at the WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management, the RWTH Aachen, the Technical University of Munich and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology; he regularly lectures at the WHU and the RWTH incubation and innovation centers. Prior to joining Orrick, Odey served as a research assistant to a distinguished chair focusing on European law, where he authored several academic papers. Throughout his doctoral studies, he delved deeply into the intricate realms of European, international, and data protection law.

Additionally, Odey contributed to significant legal opinions and gained practical experience by supporting the representation of the German Federal Government in pivotal cases before the Federal Constitutional Court, including the proceedings on the European Patent Convention, CETA and the EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement.

Before starting his legal practice, he also worked as a research assistant for an international UK-headquartered law firm.
