William Ho, an of counsel in Orrick’s Hong Kong office, is a member of the M&A and Private Equity Group. He has extensive experience in the areas of cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity, venture capital, privatizations, and strategic investments.
Will regularly represents major private equity funds in their investments across Asia, with a strong focus in the tech space. Over the years, he has been actively involved in the start-up scene in Greater China and Southeast Asia, and has built a reputation for advising early-stage start-ups on their capital raisings, financings and general corporate matters.
Will’s practice also includes advising a number of Hong Kong-listed issuers and investment banks on a wide range of capital markets and M&A transactions, including privatizations, security offerings (primary and secondary), as well as private investments into public equity (PIPE) transactions.
Prior to joining Orrick, Will began his career at Slaughter and May before moving to Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison.
In addition to being admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong, Will is also admitted as a solicitor in New South Wales, Australia (currently non-practicing).
Betty L. Louie is a partner of the M&A and Private Equity Group based in the Beijing office. With a particular expertise on Asia outbound investments, Betty has extensive experience in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, private equity, strategic investments and capital markets. She has practiced for over 20 years on the continents – the US, Europe and China – on strategic and complex mergers and acquisitions.
She regularly advises Chinese corporations and financial institutions investing and operating outside of China, and also assists international companies with their FDIs in China. She also advises global private equity and venture capital funds on their investments in Chinese companies, as well as assisting international tech companies on their structuring and operations in China.
Since 2012, she has been consistently recognized and ranked in legal industry publications, such as Chambers Global, Chambers Asia Pacific and Milano Finanza. Clients have praised Betty as “extremely experienced with complex legal issues, both M&A and regulatory issues”, “highly experienced in helping Chinese companies and investors carry out transactions,” “having a specialist knowledge of the Chinese market” and “offers practical and efficient solutions.”

Before relocating to China, Betty practiced in New York for more than 10 years, and also practiced in Italy for close to 10 years.
Benjamin Cichostepski-Lesage is an experienced lawyer advising technology and Web companies as well as venture and growth capital investors on corporate transactions for more than 10 years.
Based in Orrick’s Paris office, Benjamin has strong ties with the Silicon Valley, San Francisco, New York and London offices.
Passionate about entrepreneurship and shaping the success of early ventures, Benjamin leads Orrick’s Technology Companies Group in France. He advises companies and investors at various stages from incubation and equity financings to external growth transactions and exits (M&A, IPO), all with deep French-U.S. cross-border expertise.
