He has acted as counsel to lenders, sponsors, investors, investment banks and issuers in connection with a variety of transaction types, such as private placement transactions, project finance transactions (including project bonds), convertible and exchangeable bonds, structured equity transactions and capital securities for banks and insurance companies.
Examples of recent experience in these areas include advising on the landmark Italian Brebemi (A35) toll road financing, the Italian A3 toll road project bonds and the Italian A21 toll road financing. He also advised on the financing and refinancing of Azzurra Aeroporti (the Côte d’Azur airports) as well as various financings for Mundys and Autostrada per l’Italia, and the crossover bond issuance by Italian telecommunications company TIM S.p.A.
Craig has also acted for a number of global plastics groups on a range of transactions from secured private credit transactions through structured equity investments and joint ventures, with a recent focus on mechanical and advanced recycling of plastics.
Craig has also led numerous high-profile transactions in the Italian and European markets. He has recently advised on multiple senior and subordinated bond issuances by a major Italian banking group, including Additional Tier 1 and senior preferred notes. He also advised on a €1.5 billion dual-tranche bond issuance by a global industrial manufacturer.
Craig also acts on liability management exercises for corporates and banks, including systemic transactions such as the debt for equity swap carried out by National Bank of Greece in November/December 2015, the liability management exercise carried out by Monte dei Paschi di Siena in November/December 2016 and the deleveraging of Banca Monte dei Paschi by way of a partial non-proportional demerger (which included a non-performing asset portfolio) in favour of Amco S.p.A. (owned by the Italian government) in 2020.
Qualified in England and Wales, Craig is recognized for his commercial insight and pragmatic approach to structuring complex transactions. He is fluent in English and Italian and is highly regarded for his ability to navigate the intricacies of Italian and international regulatory frameworks.
Ranked in Band 1 in the Chambers Global 2025 and Chambers Europe 2025 guides for Capital Markets: Debt, Craig is also recognized in the Hall of Fame for Capital Markets: Debt by Legal 500 Europe.
Craig has a wide range of experience advising developers, funders and contractors on the construction and operation aspects of domestic and international energy projects including wind (offshore and onshore), solar, battery storage, energy from waste, anaerobic digestion and nuclear.
Gilbert has experience in cross-border and domestic transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, and investments, primarily within the technology sector. He advises companies and investors on venture capital and growth equity transactions, covering early-stage financings, institutional funding rounds, bridge financings, secondary transactions, and exits.
Jordan has represented clients in an array of intellectual property disputes, including those involving patent infringement, trade secret misappropriation, and trademark infringement. He has also represented clients in disputes involving intellectual property licenses. Jordan has practiced in various federal district courts, as well as before the Federal Circuit, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and the International Trade Commission, achieving successful outcomes for both plaintiffs and defendants at jury and bench trials alike.
In addition to his work in the life sciences sector, Jordan has substantial experience in the technology sector. He has litigated intellectual property disputes related to energy storage, OLED displays, base station antennas, fiber optics, and video game rendering. Jordan has also counseled clients on intellectual property licensing, patent prosecution and portfolio management, and intellectual property and information technology issues arising in commercial transactions.
Jordan maintains a robust pro bono practice and is currently involved in litigation concerning reproductive rights. He previously litigated claims of racial discrimination by police, which resulted in criminal justice reform within the police department. Jordan also helped exonerate a pro bono client, who had spent over 16 years in prison for a crime that he did not commit.
Adrian represents clients in domestic and cross-border transactions, in particular local and international companies, private equity/venture funds and growth companies.
In addition Adrian acts as a business angel for several venture capital start-up companies.
In addition to her core experience in ICC and LCIA arbitrations representing clients in the oil and gas, technology and airline industries, Harriet also has experience acting in sports-related arbitrations and representing clients in English High Court and Court of Appeal litigation and enforcement proceedings.
Ciarra’s practice includes white collar criminal defense, global investigations across a broad range of industries, and developing anti-corruption compliance programs. She has extensive experience conducting internal investigations and representing companies against the U.S. government in response to Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and sanctions compliance inquiries.
Ciarra's practice also includes online safety, including advising companies regarding statutory reporting and legal reporting in the data privacy space. Her experience involves best practices with regard to child sexual abuse material (CSAM), cyber harassment, sexual exploitation, and terrorist/hate speech. Ciarra's expertise includes providing strategic advice to clients with respect to quickly evolving online safety issues such as reporting obligations for social media and internet platforms as well as content moderation and identity verification controls.
Ciarra remains committed to serving her community through varied pro bono matters, including the Criminal Justice Act where she has experience advising individuals charged in large racketeering conspiracies and other federal criminal statues. Most recently, Ciarra served as one of Orrick's inaugural Racial Justice Fellows, working for fifteen months in Howard University School of Law's Civil Rights Clinic. During this time, she assisted the Clinic in filing five amicus briefs in the U.S. Supreme Court, achieved a meaningful settlement on behalf of the family of a man killed by police officers in Greenville, Mississippi (after convincing the district court to deny qualified immunity for the officers involved), and published an academic article about the genesis of Section 1983 and the Ku Klux Klan Hearings of 1871.
Prior to joining Orrick, Ciarra graduated from Brooklyn Law School where she received a distinction in criminal law. While there, she authored timely CLE materials as a Center for Criminal Justice Fellow. She also interned with various non-profit and government agencies, including the Bronx and Kings County district attorney’s offices in the child abuse and sex crimes bureau.
