Elisa is an experienced trial lawyer, having successfully litigated several trials as well as domestic and international arbitrations, representing Italian and international clients such as media & entertainment corporations, private equity funds, banks.
She also has broad experience in handling alternative dispute resolutions.
Her practice focuses mainly on corporate and commercial law disputes.
Elisa has extensive experience in corporate governance and international contract law and advises prominent Italian and multinational corporations active in many industries.
Bill’s experience in public finance includes representing issuers such as state agencies, local governments, public utilities, and public improvement districts on both general obligation and revenue financings, as well as representing the underwriters for various municipal bonds.
Prior to joining the firm, Bill served as in-house counsel at both the City of Austin and the Lower Colorado River Authority (Austin, Texas).
Thomas's patent litigation practice is an outgrowth of his deep interest in technology and love of client service. Thomas has assisted clients, large and small, plaintiff and defendant, in obtaining outcomes that serve their unique business goals. Thomas is well-versed in a variety of technologies including semiconductor devices, telecommunications, and other electrical and mechanical disciplines. Prior to entering private practice Thomas served as a patent examiner with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for many years.
He represents a variety of market participants, including sponsors, issuers and underwriters, in public and private offerings of commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS).
He joins Orrick from Troutman Pepper Hamilton Sanders in Washington, D.C. Prior to and during law school, James worked in the secondary market as a Performance Manager in the Credit Risk Management division at Freddie Mac, where he managed the performance of billions of dollars in MBS assets.
He is also a member of Orrick's Leasing Practice Group, Assessment/Mello-Roos Practice Group, and Revenue Practice Group. Don has extensive experience, as bond counsel, disclosure counsel
and underwriter's counsel, in the financing techniques used by school and
community college districts, cities and counties
in California. His practice focuses on local governmental infrastructure
financing, including general obligation bond financing, municipal lease
financing, and land-secured financing, as well as tax
and revenue anticipation note (TRAN), pension obligation and other post-employment
benefit (OPEB) obligation financings. Don serves as the lead lawyer for
the California School Boards Association's annual tax and revenue anticipation
note pool.
In addition to his ITC practice, Bas also heads Orrick’s contentious prosecution practice. He has led more than 30 IPRs and first-chaired more than a dozen trials before the United States Patent Office, as well as represented clients in dozens of trials in district courts, and before PTAB.
As someone with degrees in both engineering and English literature, Bas is uniquely suited to present complicated topics to non-technical audiences. He has represented clients in fields as diverse as semiconductor processing and structure, GPS and geosynchronous satellites, image texture and graphics processing, Internet switches and communications, and various consumer products.
