In addition to his work as a lawyer, Johannes has completed the joint Executive MBA program by U.S.-based Kellogg University and WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management, Germany’s leading startup university.
Andrew has represented innovative, multinational companies—both offensively and defensively—in patent, copyright, trademark, and trade secret disputes. He has handled an array of technologies in the semiconductor, artificial intelligence, electrical, medical device, materials science, communications, and software spaces.
Prior to joining Orrick, Andrew served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Robert W. Schroeder III of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. He was also an intellectual property litigation associate at a large international law firm in New York.
Andrew graduated from the Georgetown University Law Center where he founded and served as the Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Georgetown Law Technology Review. He also externed for the Honorable Jimmie V. Reyna at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Prior to law school, Andrew worked for the U.S. House Judiciary Committee as they considered sweeping reforms to domestic patent, copyright, trademark, and trade secret laws.
Kristin focuses on U.S. and international trademark and copyright counseling and prosecution, advising on branding strategies, and resolving trademark-related disputes for clients in a variety of industries, including food and beverage products, retail and clothing, consumer products, cloud computing, software and Internet services, social networking and online gaming. She has extensive experience in advising and representing clients in proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as well as the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. In addition, Kristin maintains an active pro bono practice in the areas of trademark and copyright law, homelessness, housing, and domestic violence.
Prior to her legal career, Kristin held various executive level positions in both the non-profit sector and local government.
David’s practice focuses on complex copyright and trademark matters in retail, entertainment, and media adjacent spaces. He also possesses multiple years of experience litigating tech-based trade secret and patent infringement issues involving software programs, computer hardware, digital communication systems, and medical devices.
Prior to joining Orrick, David served as a law clerk for the Honorable Otis D. Wright, II in the Central District of California as well as for the Honorable Liam P. Hardy on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. Between federal clerkships, David worked at Kirkland & Ellis LLP in their IP litigation practice group where he engaged in all stages of litigation on behalf of various Fortune 50 companies.
In addition to his civilian career, David previously served as an Infantry Officer and continues to serve part-time as a Judge Advocate in the U.S. Army National Guard.
David is also passionate about serving his larger community and has an active pro bono practice focusing on civil litigation, veteran assistance, and refugee legal aid.
Alfred represents major corporate purchasers and developers in negotiating renewable energy PPAs. His advice helps buy-side clients to reduce their energy costs and meet their clean energy targets. He also advises developers in securing long-term project revenues by structuring and negotiating bankable PPAs. His experience covers all major European jurisdictions, including Spain, the Netherlands, Poland, France, Germany, Sweden, Italy and the UK.
Alfred’s experience also extends to grid connection arrangements, energy storage, energy regulation and other energy transition matters.
Prior to joining Orrick, Alfred was a Senior Legal Director at a leading solar developer and, before that, was the EMEA Region Lead for Energy at Amazon Web Services, the world’s largest buyer of renewable energy. He also spent nearly a decade at an international law firm, assisting clients in meeting their net-zero climate targets.
Chiara has experience in a broad range of corporate law matters, including group reorganisations across multiple jurisdictions as well as acquisitions and corporate governance.
