Laura Lariu Partner

She is primarily focused on venture capital financings, corporate governance, equity incentive plans, formations, secondary transactions, listings and outside general counsel guidance.

Before joining Orrick, she led companies through transformational growth as general counsel. She was an early employee of Relativity Space, an orbital launch company that automates rocket manufacturing and is now run by Google's former CEO, and helped scale the company from to 1,000+ employees, raise $1.3 billion in funding and secure millions of square feet of physical infrastructure (including a former Boeing C-17 factory) and prepare for its first rocket launch. She has negotiated launch contracts with major satellite companies in amounts exceeding $1 billion of contract value. Prior to Relativity Space, she was a general counsel in the transportation and logistics space.  Laura started out her career as a corporate attorney with Gunderson Dettmer in New York.

Laura is a founding member of TechGC (now L Suite), a community platform for general counsels of leading venture capital funds and high-growth tech companies and served on its Steering Committee and Executive Board. She is on the Steering Committee of Space Beach Law Lab, the leading platform for legal leaders and regulators to shape the future of the space industry.

Laura speaks five languages and loves traveling and spending time with her husband, kids and friends.

Lauren Leibovitch Senior Associate

She is a persuasive writer and experienced litigator who leverages her substantial wage-and-hour knowledge to develop creative strategies and solutions. Lauren has been a key player in successfully defeating class certification and securing dismissals of PAGA actions. Through smart litigation, Lauren ensures favorable outcomes for her clients.

Lauren has authored numerous articles and client alerts, providing valuable insights on various aspects of employment law. Before joining Orrick, Lauren served as co-editor of Morrison & Foerster's Employment Law Commentary blog, which covers judicial, litigation, and legislative developments, their implications for employers, and strategies to ensure compliance and avoid lawsuits.

Lauren graduated cum laude from the University of California, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings), where she was Senior Articles Editor for the Hastings Law Journal and received CALI Awards for earning the highest grade in Legal Writing & Research, E-Discovery, and Critical Studies I: Writing. During pursuit of her J.D., she served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Mary E. Wiss and the Honorable Curtis E.A. Karnow in the San Francisco Superior Court of Complex Civil Litigation, and for the Honorable Consuelo B. Marshall in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. In undergrad, Lauren was an NCAA Division I coxswain on UCLA’s rowing team.

Fredrick Levin Partner

In addition, Fredrick has represented corporate and individual clients in a wide array of national and transnational commercial disputes involving contract enforcement, corporate governance, debt collection, intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, real estate and securities. He also has an active appellate practice and has briefed and argued numerous cases in federal and state courts throughout the U.S.

Fredrick is a frequent author and lecturer on litigation and compliance issues regarding the consumer financial services industry, including on topics such as federal preemption under the Dodd-Frank Act, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's (CFPB) mortgage servicing rules, the CFPB’s proposed arbitration rule, residential mortgage backed securities litigation, management of multi-jurisdictional litigation, enforcement of jury trial waivers and the use of American discovery in support of foreign litigation and damages measurement.

Prior to joining Orrick, Fredrick was a partner at Buckley LLP. He is co-located in the firm’s Chicago office and practices regularly in Illinois and Michigan.
