Orrick Antitrust partner Russell Cohen will be participating in this year’s CBA Competition Law Fall Conference October 17-18 in Ottawa, Ontario.

This two-day conference is the leading Canadian event for competition law and policy professionals, bringing together all segments of the competition law community, including Canadian and international enforcement officials, in-house counsel, plaintiffs’ lawyers, defense lawyers, economists, and academics in order to share knowledge, experience, and advice regarding all areas of competition law and policy, including mergers, unilateral conduct, cartel and class action proceedings, and deceptive marketing practices.

Russ will be speaking on the panel, “Prosys v. Microsoft – Anatomy of a Class Action Trial,” a case study that will dissect how a competition law class action actually goes to trial, including the approaches taken by plaintiffs and defendants in respect of factual and expert evidence as well as the customized procedures adopted by the BC Supreme Court to manage this type of litigation.
