Prior to joining Orrick, Sarah was an appellate attorney with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs where she represented the VA before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
A veteran herself, Sarah served over 13 years on active duty as a Judge Advocate in the U.S. Army, including two deployments to Iraq. During her military career, Sarah prosecuted criminal cases, represented soldiers in criminal appeals, advised senior commanders on complex investigations and operational law, and taught as an associate professor at the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s School in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Monica advises renewable energy developers in site acquisition, interconnection, and power purchase agreement negotiations, as well as on the environmental aspects of their transactions. In addition, Monica represents major corporate purchasers in the negotiation of renewable energy and sustainability related agreements to help them meet their global carbon reduction goals.
Drawing on past roles at an independent power producer and in climate policy, Monica helps clients navigate the energy sector’s dynamic business and legal landscape. Prior to joining Orrick, Monica was an energy and environment associate at a global law firm.

Alex's offtake practice also includes advising on data center load agreements, carbon credit agreements, and aggregated distributed energy resources. Alex also advises on other project development and project M&A matters.
Prior to joining Orrick, Alex was an associate at another leading law firm where he focused on advising domestic and international corporate buyers, developers, investors, lenders, and sponsors in the acquisition and sale, development, financing, and offtake of energy projects.

She also graduated magna cum laude from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, a minor in French, and a certificate in Engineering Therapeutics Manufacturing. Prior to law school, Dana worked as an engineer in a Texas-based semiconductor manufacturing facility.

He advises major financial institutions, public and privately owned companies, sponsors and private credit funds in effectively assessing legal risks in complex secured and unsecured commercial finance transactions. His experience extends to a wide variety of finance transactions, including broadly syndicated loans, asset-based financings, private equity acquisition financings, debt restructurings, dividend recapitalizations and project financings. Matthew also supports other practice groups, including the Mergers & Acquisitions/Private Equity group, the Technology Companies Group and the Energy and Infrastructure group, on various financing matters for clients.

Her practice includes advising on both domestic and cross-border transactions, supporting clients throughout the full investment cycle.
Claudia has worked on a broad range of deals, including early-stage financings in sectors such as AI, healthtech, and SaaS, as well as growth capital rounds for companies developing advanced digital and industrial technologies. She has also been involved in strategic acquisitions and exits, including transactions in the energy, cybersecurity, and enterprise software fields.
